Submitting AADHAAR update / change / correction request does not guarantee update of AADHAAR data. Change request submitted through myAadhaar online Service portal will be verified and validated by the UIDAI and only after successful validation the change request will be processed for AADHAAR update. Each successful submission of AADHAAR change request is assigned a unique Service Request Number (SRN). Applicant can quote this SRN number for the corresponding AADHAAR update request's status related inquiry with UIDAI helpdesk.

The quality check operators at UIDAI will check the submitted AADHAAR update request against the submitted documents; if there are any discrepancy the AADHAAR change request is likely to be rejected. Click here if AADHAAR change / update / correction request is rejected.

On successful quality check, an SMS containing a unique Enrolment ID and Date & Time Stamp will be sent to the applicant's registered mobile number.

AADHAAR Update Offline

For offline AADHAAR update request, where the applicant submit the AADHAAR change request physically at AADHAAR enrolment / update centre, upon successful registration of update request the applicant will be given an update acknowledgement slip containing a unique Enrolment ID and Date & Time Stamp.

Please keep this AADHAAR Enrolment ID and Date & Time Stamp securely as it will be required to check AADHAAR update / change / correction status.

After complete validations by the UIDAI backend software, AADHAAR update / change request process will be completed and the applicant will be sent an SMS notification on the outcome on his / her registered mobile number. The AADHAAR update / change request takes roughly 5 to 7 business days to process.

AADHAAR Update Status Check Online

Applicants can check their AADHAAR update / correction status online using the AADHAAR Enrolment ID and Date & Time Stamp that was given to them upon the successful AADHAAR update / correction online. In case where applicants have submitted AADHAAR update / correction at an AADHAAR enrolment / update centre and received the update acknowledgement slip, they can also check their AADHAAR update / correction status online using the update acknowledgement slip. The AADHAAR update acknowledgement slip contains a unique 14 digits Enrolment ID (such as "1234/12345/12345") and 14 digits Date & Time Stamp in "dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss" format. If the applicant has lost AADHAAR enrolment / update acknowledgement slip, it can be retrieved online using his / her registered mobile number. To check AADHAAR enrolment / correction / update status online follow these steps:

  • Enter the 14 digits Enrolment ID and 14 digits Date & Time Stamp from the AADHAAR enrolment / update acknowledgement slip in the "EID" field.
  • Enter the Captcha Verification code exactly as is shown in the auto-generated image on the screen. If the auto-generated Captcha Verification code is not readable, press the refresh icon to generate a new Captcha Verification code.
  • Click on the "Check Status" button.

The status page will show the AADHAAR change / update / correction status. If the AADHAAR change / update / correction request is completed successfully the updated new AADHAAR will be sent to the given address via India Post. Applicant can also download e-AADHAAR online, which has the same validity as the one that will be sent physically via India Post. Click here to download e-AADHAAR online.
