Procedure for minor kids to apply new AADHAAR enrolment registration is made quick, hassle free and user friendly by UIDAI so the minor children can apply for new AADHAAR enrolment efficiently. To apply for new AADHAAR enrolment registration, child has to visit a nearby AADHAAR enrolment centre, accompanied by father / mother / guardian, with the required supporting documents. For children below 5 years of age, only Proof of Relationship document, to establish the relationship with the accompanying father / mother / guardian, is required. For kids above 5 years of age, if they do not have their own Proof of Identity and / or Proof of Address documents they have to submit the Proof of Relationship document to establish the relationship with the accompanying father / mother / guardian. In both the above cases, the accompanying father / mother / guardian have to submit their own AADHAAR or EID number, if the child is introduced to AADHAAR by them. The accompanying father / mother / guardian has to authenticate on behalf of the child and also give consent for enrolment of the minor child by signing the enrolment form. Also submit the Proof of Date of Birth document if available.

At the AADHAAR enrolment centre, fill separate AADHAAR enrolment forms with requested details for each child applicant. Once the filled up form and the supporting documents are in order, each child applicant's biometric (iris scan, fingerprints scan and photograph) and demographic data will be captured electronically and sent to the central data processing servers. Please note that for kids below 5 years age iris scan and fingerprints scan are not be captured, only facial photograph is taken. These children will need to update their biometrics of iris scan, fingerprints scan and facial photograph, when they turn 5 and 15. Intimation to this effect will be mentioned in the original AADHAAR letter.

Kids AADHAAR Enrolment Acknowledgement

In the end, the child applicant will be given an acknowledgement slip containing a unique Enrolment ID. Please keep this AADHAAR enrolment acknowledgement slip securely as it will be required to check AADHAAR enrolment status, collect the approved AADHAAR sent via India Post as well as to download e-AADHAAR online. Verify the data in the kid's AADHAAR enrolment acknowledgement slip carefully to make sure all the data are captured correctly. If there are any mistakes, correction in the kid's AADHAAR enrolment data can be done free of cost within 96 hours of enrolment registration. Individuals can enrol for AADHAAR only once, any attempt to enrol multiple times will be rejected by the process of de-duplication using their demographic and biometric information. AADHAAR approval process may take anywhere from 60 to 90 days after successful enrolment registration. Once it's ready, AADHAAR will be delivered by the India Post on the given address.

AADHAAR enrolment is free of cost; there is no fees / charges of any kind for new enrolment. Child AADHAAR Enrolment Documents

Each child applicant must carry the supporting documents for new AADHAAR application in original; no Xerox copies of the documents are required. Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents are generally not mandatory to apply for new AADHAAR enrolment for children.
