When applying for new AADHAAR enrolment, only facial photograph is taken for kids below 5 years age; other biometrics, iris scan and fingerprints scan is not be captured. These children will need to update their biometrics of iris scan, fingerprints scan and facial photograph, when they turn 5 and one more time when they turn 15 years age. Also as the applicant age, his / her iris and fingerprints may change and make it difficult to avail services where authentication using fingerprint scan is mandatory. In such situations applicant should update his / her iris scan and fingerprints scan details in AADHAAR at the earliest.
Applicant can request iris scan and fingerprints scan update in AADHAAR as many times as needed by physically going to AADHAAR enrolment / update centre. There is no cap on how many times iris scan and fingerprints scan change can be requested in AADHAAR.

For kids who update their biometrics of iris scan, fingerprints scan and facial photograph, when they turn 5 and one more time when they turn 15 years age, no update fees is charged. Rest of the applicants will be charged Rs. 50 to update their biometrics of iris scan, fingerprints scan in AADHAAR. This iris scan, fingerprints scan update processing fees is non-refundable.
