AADHAAR Date of Birth Update Online

Procedure to change / correct date of birth in AADHAAR is made quick, hassle free and user friendly by UIDAI. Date of birth change is a very rarely requested update in AADHAAR only when there is either a mistake in the date of birth on AADHAAR or when the applicant now has a valid Proof of Date of Birth document but did not submit a valid Proof of Date of Birth at the time of AADHAAR enrolment and had to put a tick mark in the Declared box for Date of Birth field in AADHAAR enrolment form. When the date of birth is marked as declared only birth year is printed on AADHAAR.

Applicant can request change / correction of date of birth online on UIDAI's Self Service Update Portal without having to physically go to AADHAAR enrolment / update centre. Applicant can request date of birth change / correction in AADHAAR only once in his / her life time. Applicant will be required to upload colored scanned copy of the original Proof of Date of Birth document as per the valid documents list. Click here for the list of documents for AADHAAR update. A valid working mobile number must be linked to AADHAAR to change / correct date of birth in AADHAAR online. If the applicant did not mention his / her mobile number at the time of AADHAAR enrolment or did not link it later at AADHAAR enrolment / update centre, click here to link mobile number to AADHAAR.

Applicant can also request change / correction of date of birth offline by visiting a nearby AADHAAR enrolment / update centre with the original supporting Proof of Date of Birth document along with the AADHAAR and authenticate using his / her biometrics. Applicant will be charged Rs. 50 to change / correct date of birth in AADHAAR. This date of birth change processing fees is non-refundable.

If there are any mistakes in date of birth when applying for a new AADHAAR, correction can be done free of cost within 96 hours of enrolment registration. For correction in date of birth, visit the AADHAAR enrolment registration centre with the AADHAAR enrolment acknowledgement slip with the original supporting Proof of Date of Birth document.

To change / update / correct date of birth in AADHAAR online follow these steps:

Click on the "Login" button in the myAadhaar welcome screen.

myAadhaar login using AADHAAR; get OTP.

Enter the applicant's 12 digit "AADHAAR Number". If the applicant has lost / forgotten his / her AADHAAR Number, click here to retrieve lost / forgotten AADHAAR Number.
Enter the Captcha Verification code exactly as is shown in the auto-generated image on the screen. If the auto-generated Captcha Verification code is not readable, press the refresh icon to generate a new Captcha Verification code.
Click on the "Send OTP" button; this will send an OTP (One Time Password) to the applicant's registered mobile number.

Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number and click on the "Login" button.

Upon successful login, "Services" page is shown with available online AADHAAR services. Click on the "Update Aadhaar Online" service button.

Date of Birth change / correction in AADHAAR online.

On the "How it Works?" page, carefully read the instructions on what information can be updated online in AADHAAR and how to update them and click on the "Proceed To Update Aadhaar" button.

Date of Birth change / correction in AADHAAR online; select option.

Click and select "Date of Birth" option from the available data field(s) that can be updated in AADHAAR online and click on the "Proceed To Update Aadhaar" button.

Date of Birth change / correction in AADHAAR online; enter details.

First section displays the current date of birth details; in the second section fill the new date of birth details.
Enter "New Date of Birth to be Updated".
Select either "Manual Upload" or "DigiLocker" option, depending upon from where the supporting date of birth change Proof of Date of Birth document will be submitted from.
Select the supporting Proof of Date of Birth document from the "Select Valid Supporting Document Type" dropdown list and click on "View Details & Upload Document" button.

Once supporting Proof of Date of Birth document for date of birth update is uploaded successfully, confirm the entered date of birth change details in the Preview screen and proceed to make date of birth change processing fees payment.
Upon successful online date of birth change request submission, a URN (Update Request Number) (such as "1234/12345/12345") will be displayed on the screen and also sent via SMS to the applicant's registered mobile number. Cancel AADHAAR Date of Birth Update Online

Date of Birth change / correction in AADHAAR online; cancel request.

Applicant can cancel the date of birth change request from the "My self-service Request" section in the myAadhaar welcome screen dashboard if the change request is not already picked up for further processing. If cancelled, the fees paid will be refunded back to the applicant's account within 21 days.
